Daniel Buren

Daniel Buren has received many awards and prizes throughout his long career, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1986 and the Japan Art Foundation's Praemium Imperiale for painting in 2007.

He has created public interventions and exhibitions all over the world and countless permanent installations such as Les Deux Plateux (1985-1986) in the Court of Honour of the Palais Royal in Paris; Sens dessous Dessous (1994) at the Parc des Célestins in Lyon; 25 Porticos: The Color and its Reflections (1996) Tokyo; Sulle vigne: Points of View, at Castello di Ama, Gaiole in Chianti (2001); Cerchi nell'acqua at the ARIN headquarters in Ponticelli, Naples, (2004); Puente de la Salve, on the bridge of the same name adjacent to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (2007); Le Banderuole colorate, in situ work, on the panoramic terraces of the Zegna wool mill in Trivero (June 2008).

Daniel Buren ha ricevuto nel corso della sua lunga carriera molti riconoscimenti e premi fra i quali il Leone d’Oro alla Biennale di Venezia nel 1986 e il Praemium Imperiale per la pittura della Japan Art Foundation nel 2007.
