Jan Fabre

Jan Fabre is a visual artist, theatre artist and author. Since 1976, performances and stage actions have marked the various stages of his work, centered on the theme of the body and on the idea that the artist is a knight-errant at the service of beauty. Among his works exhibited at Studio Trisorio are those of the Homage to Hieronymus Bosch in Congo series, made with iridescent beetle shells and inspired by the sad and violent colonial history of the Belgian Congo, and the coral works of the Red Gold series which have confirmed the artist's strong ties with Naples, leading him to permanently install four large sculptures in dialogue with the works of Caravaggio and other masters of 17th century Neapolitan painting in the Chapel of Pio Monte della Misericordia.
